Why does Children Desiring God offer workbooks for students? Workbooks are a valuable tool for small group leaders to use during discussion time. They are an important means of assessing student understanding, reviewing important concepts, applying principles learned, and furthering understanding of the material. They are used in class during the year and sent home at the end of the study. (Parent Resource Sheets help parents to stay informed about weekly lesson content until the workbooks are sent home.) Unlike review sheets (often provided with other curricula), workbooks are designed to be durable. Review sheets are often lost or thrown away. Children have a greater investment and a greater sense of ownership in a workbook they have labored over all year. Children can remember lesson concepts by looking through their workbooks; parents can use workbooks as tools for review. Workbooks provide the children with a lasting record of what was taught. It is our hope that these workbooks will provide children with a graded "theological library." ADDITIONAL NOTE ABOUT UPPER LEVEL WORKBOOKS:
